I've been asked a few times now what families can do for fun on Anglesey when wife/husband/other is racing. So I compiled a small list:

Horse riding for all ages, including beach rides: http://www.angleseyridingcentre.co.uk/

Sea Zoo, aquarium: http://www.angleseyseazoo.co.uk/

Outdoor pursuits including rock climbing, abseiling, raft building: http://www.angleseyadventures.com/

Butterfly house and small zoo aimed at kids. Including meerkats and the like! : http://www.pilipalas.co.uk/

Model village: http://www.angleseymodelvillage.co.uk/

Transport musem, vintage cars, bikes and farming vehicles set on a replica 1940s cobbled street: http://www.angleseytransportmuseum.co.uk/

Working farm park: http://www.foelfarm.co.uk/

National Trust stately home: http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/plas-newydd-house-and-gardens/

Golf club: http://www.angleseygolfclub.co.uk/index.php

Diving / Dive training: http://www.diveanglesey.co.uk/

Powerboat training / boat trips: http://www.seawake.co.uk/

Victorian jail museum: http://www.anglesey.gov.uk/leisure/museums-and-galleries/beaumaris-gaol/

Family activity centre with tunnels, mazes and trails for kids, plus magic shows and crafts: http://www.greenwoodforestpark.co.uk/

Wildlife/bird watching at South Stack Cliffs RSPB Reserve: http://www.rspb.org.uk/discoverandenjoynature/seenature/reserves/guide/s/southstackcliffs/#_=_

And there's a few forests and areas of outstanding natural beauty for walks and things. Plus some cinemas and shops for the less adventurous or if it's raining!

Boat trips from Beaumaris run from the pier to either Puffin Island or down the Menai Straights. Tried it and loved it. Seacoast Safaris is the best one. You can also visit Beaumaris Castle.

I went to Pili Palas 2 weeks ago. Compact, but plenty to see including meerkats, birds, goats, rabbits, pigs etc.

Plas Newydd: check the opening times for house & garden before setting off as they vary daily. This recently featured on BBC2 "Coast" to show off its ecology-friendly heating system.

Six beaches have Blue Flag Awards.

James Pringle has a huge outlet at LlanFairPG. If you live Edinburgh Woollen Mill (like I do) then it is heaven. Free parking too.

There's a lot to do on the mainland too but, hey, who wants to leave Anglesey?
