Dear all,
Things are looking good and it looks like we shall have around 39 cars in the field, up from 34 last year. Entries are coming in well - with around half the provisional field having paid some or all of the entry fee. Still some weeks to go to the close, but don't delay.
This does mean that it looks like at worst only a couple of garages will have 4 cars in. If that happens, the last 8 or 4 cars to enter will be in 4 car garages !
We need a volunteer to manage the Club standard petrol spouts. That means controlling their issue during Saturday morning and collecting deposits. You will also check that each petrol can is clearly numbered and report any 'variations' to the Scrutineer. At the end of the race, standing at a collection point and returning deposits to those that bring them back. Not too onerous but very important. A few bottles of Buffy's finest are offered as a bribe. Offers to me please, soonest.
We still have no headline sponsor for the 24 hr. If anyone has a company interested in a bargain deal, then please let me know. We are talking in the range £500 to £1000.
You'll see that Edd Straw of Club Autosport is in the Fine Print car. He will do his best to find space for a few mentions. We've also got SuperVee champ Jeremy Clark, who lives near Snet. He is very newsworthy locally, so we should get a bit of coverage there. A last minute title sponsor might get a surprising amount of brand exposure.
Best wishes, Martin H
