Interchangeable gearboxes?

Hi,
With the disc braked gearboxes there are 2 styles of input shaft from the clutch, different spline arrangement.
Can either type be fitted to the same engine or do they have to be a matched pair? Thanks, Ian

They both work Ian, short spline with later clutch is not ideal but does function.

the ratios must still be 2cv6 though, most short spline gearboxes are either Dyane Ratio or are equipped for drum type brakes
