I want to fit a separate fuel gauge (not using the 2cv gauges) to race car, does anyone know if there is an after market gauge that will match up with the sender in the tank or will any one work?

Also can you fit two (thinking about the 24hr, so that the refuel man can see)

thanks

Don't know about aftermarket gauges, but you can remove the fuel gauge bit from the speedo and mount it separately if you want.

No point in a second one; power's off. Keep pouring, you can hear it filling up.

Hi

You might want to explore the fuel guages and system used on microlights. These are very accurate and designed to cope with fuel sloshing around as a result of the movement of the vehicle. In addition you can get them with a readout that tells you consumption rate and how long you can go before needing to refuel. I calculated that this could save you two pit stops in the 24 hours, as you will tend to keep going until you have emptied the tank rather than go to time and not be able to use all the fuel available.

Si
find an old citroen GS or early GSA, these have 52mm fuel gauges to match the others. having said that we used a Racetech one with the 2cv sender and it was fine.
(might even have an old GS one somewhere seen as it's you)
The older I get, the more rubbish I talk
(and the more pills I take)
