Following Mervyn's post on announcements could someone please point me to the rule that says you have to a racing club member to race . I can't find it anywhere. I have found the bit that says barc member ,nothing else.

I found something in the 'join the club' section on the home page

You can have guest competitors Paul.

1.6.5 Competitors not registered for the Championship may be permitted on an individual round
basis and:
(a) will be deemed "Guest Competitors"
(b) will not score points and for the purpose of points scoring will be ignored
(c) will be allowed to take their place on the podium and qualify for any Event awards
(d) must comply with the eligibility criteria as prescribed in article 1.3 above, with the exception
of 1.3.1 (a & b) and 1.3.2 (a & b) as appropriate.

What the regs do say... which might be of interest to some. Is that (unless there is something in the SR's) there is a Minimum of 1 driver and maximum of 2 drivers for the enduro,
but we must stop 3 times and change driver each time. (3.4.1 d)

3.1.2 For each event, except for the 24 Hours, there may be a maximum of two drivers per car who
may enter.

3.4.1 General Principles:
a) This section (CR3.4) of the 2CV Parts.com Championship Regulations is not applicable to
the 24hour Event.
b) Pit lane open and pit lane closed boards will be shown at the startline at the relevant times.
c) For races of one hour duration, driver changes will take place between 1/3 and 2/3 duration
of the event in question.
d) For races of two hours duration, there will be three mandatory pit stops for driver changes.
Refuelling is not permitted save for exceptional circumstances, and then only at the
discretion and direction of the Clerk of the Course.
3.4.2 Single Drivers:
a) Single Drivers must advise the meeting Organisers at the time of entry, and confirm at signon.
b) All cars with single driver must enter the pit lane during the driver change-over period as
indicated in 3.4.1 c & d above
c) Observing all usual pit lane safety regulations, the car must stop before seatbelts are
removed. Failure to comply may lead to the imposition of a Stop / Go Penalty by the Clerk of
the Course.
d) The driver must exit the car via the drivers' door. The engine may be left running except
during events where re-fuelling takes place in which case the cars' ignition must be 'dead'.

Also the 'event' is the weekend not just a single race.. which in theory limits the number of drivers per car to 2. for the weekend.  Not very 24hour prep friendly is it?  wishing i'd proposed a wee change to the regs here. .  .  .

After some searching i found these snippets of information that suggest that day membership is allowed and that the board were tasked with looking at it further this year with the view to it becoming "an incentive".

From  board meeting minutes feb 2014.

Discussion

The decision to cancel day membership fees made during the last board meeting was reversed.  It was felt that the best way of collecting the fees for the 24hr race was to have a club rep in sign on.
   Conclusion

24hr race:  club rep in sign on to collect membership fees

All drivers in "sprint" races should be full members of the club.
   Action

From agm minutes november 2014
10.   To set membership fees for full, racing and associate members.
Much discussion took place on the "day membership" fee and how it should apply.  Phil Myatt suggested that the board look into the matter of day membership fees as part of the incentive strategy.

Phil Myatt proposed that the fees remain at £50 for a full / racing membership and £15 for an associate membership.  Sammie Fritcheley seconded this.

Accepted 23 votes for, 0 against.

Nowhere can i find anything that says day membership has been cancelled again.

looks like it is only 2 drivers per car then, and one can be a guest day member?!?!
have we ever had such a vague set of rules as this years?
I'm glad I'm not racing a car at Angelsey...................I could see me getting in trouble....................................................................................
...again!
