If we are going to have a change of tyre for next season - I have 8 x brand new Toyo's that I really don't want to get stuck with, 4 x on rims 4 x still in plastic as the came from uncle Roy - obviously I going to keep them if were not changing.

Simon:
Where did you get this rumour from?
No truth in it so far as I am aware.

There was a rumour Toyo were stopping production, they're not, Roy still stocks them. There is a proposal to change to the Nankang tyre.

Louis when will we know, pointless getting stuck with them

When the proposal is voted upon at the AGM, same as any rule change proposal.

The cost implications of a change of tyre are significant for all cars, but especially so for those that run at Anglesey.
If there is a proposal already in existence, then it might be popular to circulate it now, rather than in the Autumn. That way, it can be widely discussed and accurate comparative tests organised during the race season.

I plan to circulate all the proposals I have received in the first week of July, with no comment from technical committee (as we will be meeting later in the month to discuss these) tyre discussion is documented in minutes and agendas from tech committee meetings, you'll find these under the technical section of the forum.

In addition I believe Crisis will have enough experience to be able to give a well balanced view on both tyres, from memory the Nangkangs are faster, my personal opinion is that if we were to change the control tyre we should give at least one seasons notice, though as I touched on above by the end of July we should have an official line and recommendation from tech committee.

Personally i'm probably ready for some new boots...  :P
