Does anyone remember what became of this car?:

The above photo was when Norrie owned it in 1997 - 1999

I can trace it as far as 2001/2002, when Tim Dodgson raced it. Here it is at Oulton Park, 2001:

But then after that I don't know what happened to it - anyone know?

Are you sure that's an ex-Norry Taylor car? Scotroen had 2 cars, both red in the early 1990's then dark blue cars around the years you mention. The double Mondello winner is now in the Lane Motor Museum, Nashville, Tennessee and the other went to Roger Lott, then became to "Top Gear" entry in the first Snetterton 24 hour race.

Well on the old 2cvracing site it was captioned as being Norrie's in 1997. Could be wrong of course!

It's also possible that the car above became the MRB racing car in the early Snetterton years

As far as i know this car was built by me and my brother in the early 90's. we never finished it and it got sold on and finished off i think but not sure if it raced, when it was sold on again Tim bought it. he used it for a few years then my dad bought it and it was rebuilt as the Grease Monkey car (blue and orange) an i think it ran like this from about 2004 to 2007. Now here come a twist of fate. My dad let Tim use it at Lydden Hill (poss 2007) and he was involved in a massive accident with one of the Hollis cars, bad enough to total the whole car and break engine casings, gearbox and snap a flywheel. There is a video on youtube of the accident.
The car was then totally rebuilt with a new chassis and body. It was then painted grey and green and is still about and still owned by my dad. It was out last at the 24hr and at Croft (when i drove it) in 2012. its been laid up since.
My lad has his eyes on it now, having done his first track day there is no stopping him, apart from money...
The older I get, the more rubbish I talk
(and the more pills I take)

Norry had 3 cars, Neil; there's the silver one that Steve Panas bought, too.

Parts of Tim Dodgson's blue/yellow MRB Racing car are still around. I have the bonnet and some of the other panels in my shed. Plus one of the engines was in the Louis Tyson car at Oulton Park and Croft.
Tim brought the Blue/ yellow car back in 1996 in those colours, we race it at Mondello in 97, 98 and 99, finishing I believe in 7th, 8th and 7th, must have a look through the records and check. Tim always drove it to all the races and it hardly let him down. Funny you mention this car, as I had just dug out a load of photos I has going to scan of this car from Mondello.

Thanks guys for the background!

Could it be then, that the blue/yellow car that became the MRB car was not the same as the blue car that became Grease Monkey? There were quite a few dark blue cars back then, and I noted that the roll cage on the MRB car was painted green, but on the Grease Monkey car it was white.

Andy Smith also had a dark blue car around that time - but after talking to him at Croft, it appears that's a totally separate car.

Hi Chris you being the font of all 2cv Knowledge, what do you know about my car????????

Bugger all I'm afraid! Unfortunately I don't know much about most of the cars, just a few that I have an interest in :)

Where did your car come from Simon? What colour scheme?

Still on the nostalgia kick is the Gary Adnitt 'green & purple flash' still racing? Purchased in '96 as Pink Panther (black with cartoon character), was 11th at Mondello '96, sold to Collier family same year, won Championship '03 (plus tons more races), sold in '07 for £4k?

No Frank,it was condemned by Whitwell Motorsport,Tim Ward sold the cage to Naughtybear who is building it into economy class car at present.

Frank Barnard

Sorry to hear that Paul but maybe you're not because I think our ace Nicholas Pearce nipped past you in the final stages at Mondello in '96 to snatch the Rookie award...thanks to one of your engines. But much obliged for your quick response...and that engine.

Frank Barnard

Seriously Paul, when you say 'condemned' was it in a dangerous condition, or was there some other reason?
