For sale / wanted / Driving Helmets
November 28, 2025, 17:25:18
Hi:

I have two helmets, neither for any level of MSUK racing:

- One is brand new, very well made but probably made in China. White, never used. Ideal for track days, quad bikes, etc.

- The other is my old racing helmet, treated well but now out-of-date. Also good for track days & quad bikes.

Interested? Drop me a message or call.

Thx.

Technical / Fuelling Caps
October 03, 2025, 12:33:05
Hi, all:

Fuelling Caps

A tip for when racing is finshed for the season. Simply release the locking lever. This takes the pressure off the various seals. Better still, take the cap off and put it somewhere clean. Replace with a temporary old cap.

Looking forward, I hold the Club's stock of fuel caps. Depending on which box I look in, I think we have around 10 in total. The Club charges about £35 just now. It is a lot of hassle to order and bring them in from USA. So assume that new stock will be much more expensive.

Hi, all:

I could not find mention of the TV coverage 24 Hour on the BARC Website.

I'm telling people that they can watch the 24 Hour on BARC - You Tube. BUT - as of today, they don't appear to include the 24 Hour in the previews.

Very disappointing if the cost of coverage is included in the entry fee.

Hi, all:

2CV 24 Hour race will be covered by 247.tv.

I contacted Dan at 247.tv, to ask whether they are covering it. His reply was: "Yeah currently the plan is to have it on the BARC YouTube"

See you there.

Races (not 24 hr) / Re: Lydden Hill entry list
July 12, 2025, 16:36:51
Hi, all:

I have not been able to find BARC 'finals' for Lydden Hill anywhere.

The Lydden Hill website is selling tickets only for Sunday, so is it a one-day event, all on the Sunday. Presumably arrival on the Saturday.

Does anyone know anything different?

Thx, MH

Races (not 24 hr) / Re: Series decals
July 06, 2025, 18:54:34
Hi, Martin R:

I believe that the only decal currently acquired on race cars is the ECAS sticker on the bonnet nose, above the grille. We might have some at Lydden. The rule allows that if a sticker is not available at the circuit, they won't be penalised.

Thx, Martin H

Hi:

24 Hour Report in Autosport

There is an excellent 24 Hour report in this week's edition by friend of the Club, Peter Scherer. It is spread across two pages.

24h-Race / Re: Competitor camping
August 27, 2024, 19:04:45
Hi, all:

This camping issue needs prompt attention as to abide by it would take the whole heart out of the weekend. Matt is right - there is a fire risk.

Some odd rules issues arose. We were all told to wear hi-vis on the pit wall at night and when fuelling. Race Control were alerted to the fact that most of these jackets are highly flammable, and things went quiet.

Adding to the curiosity, we were instructed that as it was dawn we should take our hi-viz jackets off!!!

Hi, all:

Yes - Debs, our good friend in the office at Snet, has no idea where the false info came from. Trevor?

Just to help things along, the Circuit Manager is Stuart Mills,(his first 24 Hour) the long standing Deputy Manager is Deborah Howard (lost count of 2CV 24 Hours). The BARC event manager is John Hutchison (also his first 24 Hour).

The CoC is Tony Weatherley, who has run the race for several years - his says that his new year priority every year is to book himself into our race.

Don't hesiate to pass the time of day with these people, plus all the marshals and officials and the circuit team. They are all part of the family that makes it the '2CV 24 Hour'.

And, important info, Debs tells me that Tyrrells will be open until 23.00 on the friday evening, while we celebrate the 'Graham Harper'Trophy.
