Powder coating

Hi,
I've amassed a fair number of wheels remembering one 24 hour race we went through 10 tyres.
I'm planning on having them shot blast to check they are as solid as they look, but is it acceptable/advisable to have them powder coated?

Make sure that they're not rusty enough to foul on the steering swivel.
