In reponse to Aubrey's call in Snails Pace for ideas for next season, is it possible to visit Ireland for a Championship round, and as the club's finances are "in good shape" perhaps  some subsidy towards the ferry cost could be possible?

Aubrey Brocklebank

Great idea, we will look into it. I have no idea whether it is feasible but that Guinness beckons :P

I'm up for that. Could maybe tie it in with the 20th anniversary stuff too, as Mondello is still "that place where the 24hr 2cv race is".

Paul Robertson

When looking for an alternative 24hr venue i did happen to call mondello and although they couldn't accomodate the 24hr race they appeared keen on us visiting again.Personally i don't think we should subsidise ferries, we could try to do a block booking, buy the tracktime and do a package at cost.

I like the sound of that

What about Croix? Never been there myself!
Some days, it's REALLY difficult being me!

There's a good microbrewery at Croix (It's at St-Pol, but near enough).

I'd like to put a word in for Croix. There's something about racing in France, cradle of motor racing. Great little circuit too. I drove there in the late '90s with Martin Woodley's team. Have a particular memory of approaching a narrow left hander under a bridge behind the paddock three abreast. Didn't expect to emerge intact, as the meat in the sandwich, but nobody lifted and we did. Also amusing to descend on the startled patron of the hotel in St Pol claiming to be 'pilotes de course' and demanding 'plus des frites.'
